There is an easy brick sidewalk behind the Four Seasons that leads to a low laying park just before you reach the Rock Creek trail and Parkway one block away where the C and O canal meets Rock Creek a short way North of the Potomac River. (Street parking is available on 29th Street) This location is most easily accessed from 29th Street. You may get a few odd looks since the lower area that ventures to the waters edge is more or less an abandoned park, but it is a practical alternative to the hassle of the Thompson Boat House beach or the dock fees, not to mention the $3 dock fee. ***The waters edge does have a few large rock areas that provide solid alternative to the muddy sand of the surrounding ‘beaches’.
