I am an Advanced Beginner paddling a Wilderness Experience Tsunami 145. I'm 62 and in good physical condition, but definitely not as fit as I was 10 years ago. When I bought the Tsunami the seller was generous enough to include a paddle and pfd in the package. That was all I needed to get started but it didn't take long for my damaged right shoulder to start hurting. I did a bit of research and found this Werner Camano Straight 2-Piece Paddle at a pretty reasonable price. What a revelation. Not only is it much much lighter (27.25 oz) than the paddle I'd been using, but it was also the proper length for my height and boat size. It is a 2-piece paddle so it breaks down easily for transport, the carbon/fiberglass is a very attractive look, and the Adjustable Ferrule System allows adjustment of feathering angle from 0° - 60° right or left in 15° increments so you can play with different options depending on your personal preferences. I was advised by experienced paddlers that a lightweight paddle is a must for longer days and more challenging conditions on the water. This paddle has been a joy to paddle with and I am so relieved to not have any more shoulder pain. Highly recommended.
