The Badger paddles are made of Ash and are hand crafted. I really like them, a friend had them when we took their canoe out to a local lake. They are tough and made in Canada. The wood gives them a beautiful look and was balanced yet strong. The shaft is oval not round and gives you a good grip and felt great after an hour on the water. The paddle was varnished so it was protected from the water and there was a included sock to protect the paddle when not in use.
