I purchased 2 of these fishing rod holders for my kayaks.

I specifically purchased them due to their high review rating and that the holder can secure my fly rod / reel unlike many others I considered. I did like their versatility as they are designed to accommodate spinning and bait casting set ups as well as a fly rod.

The holder itself removes from its mount quite easily. and only required 2 small holes to fasten it to the deck.

Their only drawback is that they are quite large, but given the ability to accept different rod / reel combinations, it's a small trade off.

Easy installation with stainless steel fasteners. At less than $40 for a pair, I think they are a great value.
