First time out (it was brand new) my wife was paddling and the paddle came off, not where it hooks clips on but the part it clips to came off. Luckily she wasn't far from shore (Lake Huron). We went back out together to try to find it, luckily we found another paddler and he helped us look. While we were looking for it I noticed that my paddle ends were also loose so I told my wife who only had one end now to be careful. We finally located it and it was much deeper than we thought and I am not a very good swimmer and if you know lake Huron the currents are terrible but I took my life jacket off and dove in. I'm 67 and and I had very hard time swimming down that deep to get it, but I did get it and came up I was out breath, I was trying to grab on to the board and my wife went to stick out the paddle so I could grab it but before I even noticed what she was doing the other end of her paddle fell off. I was hanging on to the side of the SUP watching it sink in disbelief, I couldn't catch my breath to go back after it. The gentleman with us took off his life jacket and shirt, gave us his phone and said no worries I'll get wet today and dove in for me. We were both very thankful he came along. All four connectors were loose, the two that fell off my wife's paddle and the two I had were loose and ready to come off, luckily we have an RV and I carry tools around with me so bought some stainless screws and drilled a hole in all four and also used some silicone and tape to get us through the rest of the vacation.
