Rugged racks that are a pain when it comes time to adjust the straps. By time you adjust the straps which seem to get hung up on the slots near the tops of these racks, all your buddies are done. While the rack overall is good, this one area was enough to get me to remove them from my car and replace them with Thule J cradles. Since then, loading has never been easier. If Malone can manage the strap issue better, this would be a great rack.

An overall great boat. Have owned this boat for less than a year. Have had it out on big rivers, lakes and bays. It handles rough swells, boat traffic, and winds quite well. The cockpit is comfortable and the seat has all the right adjustments. I do not have a rudder and so far do not feel the need.

Yes the boat is slow to turn and weather cocks a bit, but it is 16 foot and not built like a white water boat. With proper lean and an efficient sweep it corrects quite nicely. Rolling has not been a problem and the boat does nicely with this. The hatches are very secure with almost no water during rough conditions, rolls and rescue practice. The deck rigging is wonderful.

The only complaint is the weight makes it hard when it comes to car topping, but being made of plastic there is not much to do about this. Would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking to move up into a sea kayak range boat.
