I bought this kayak in the spring of 2015 because I got tired of lugging my much heavier sit on top (Jackson Big Tuna) back and forth from my basement to the truck and then from the truck to the water. I found that by the time I wrassled the BT around I was already give out.

Anyways, I have now used the Sound 12.5 four times and have been extremely pleased with the performance so far. It is faster than I expected but of course it won't keep up with a fast touring kayak. However, the seat leaves a little to be desired. Of course I'm coming from a Jackson high/low seat which is basically like a lounge chair. But at around 60 lbs it is much easier to load and unload. The Big Tuna was just over 100 lbs. I also like the tank well with scuppers the back as apposed to a hatch or indented area. It will drain out any water that happens to get inside this storage area. The rest of the kayak is like a normal sink.

I really don't stand up much while fishing but I do miss the ability to stand occasionally to stretch my legs. On short paddles it is no biggie but when I'm out for 4 hours or longer just sitting is a pain and I could stand in the BT without having to find a landing spot.

If it had a better seat I'd give it 10 stars.
