A great boat. Fits like a glove (I'm 6 ft. 3 in. / 195 lbs.) and very responsive. Confidence inspiring stability. Excellent tracking -- I've yet to deploy the skeg. Very easy to tighten up a turn by employing a bit of edging and very easy and stable on edge.

Great cockpit: comfortable seat and versatile seat-back (use as back band or backrest), twist-lock footpegs with wide footrests, and great thigh braces. Seals spray skirt size 1.7 is a perfect fit with the seat back in the back band position. Only have taken it out on flat water so far, and I can't wait to get it out on some big water and waves.

I originally bought an extra long Cannon Wave aluminum paddle for use on solo canoeing, but I preferred using a single blade paddle. When I bought a kayak, I needed to get a much shorter paddle, so I called Cannon to ask them what they could do for me. They offered to exchange the paddle for one of the length I needed for a few dollars and the cost of shipping. A few days later, I had my new paddle. Paddle performance is excellent, this paddle really digs in and gets you going without any flex, flutter, etc. I couldn't be more pleased with the top quality construction and performance.

I bought a used Santa Cruze and I couldn't be more pleased. It's a hybrid design, I guess, being a bit wider than a touring kayak, but with a similar hull shape. At 50 lbs. it was just what I needed in order to be able to carry and load/unload the kayak. It tracks and coasts well, performs well in waves and wakes and is extremely stable. An all around great kayak!

After being extremely pleased with the value, quality, and performance of my Cannon Wave aluminum paddle, I decided to go upscale and get the Nokomis carbon paddle.

The 28 ounce Nokomis is an incredible value. The quality far exceeds anything else in its class/price range. I looked at it's competitors that were up to 50% more in price, and the Nokomis beats them on all counts, including the clean design, how the carbon shaft joins the carbon blade without any funky tape around the joint.

Paddle performance: no flex, flutter, just smooth propulsion. I couldn't be more pleased. Finally, the customer service of Cannon is unbeatable.
