Love the flexibility, functionality, and performance of this 2+1 tandem. I call it a 2+1 because it can serve as a one, two, or three person kayak (provided your third is small - meaning a child with short legs that can sit cross-legged comfortably for short stints.
As a two tandem fitted with fishing gear it is great. Stable, tracks well-enough for its width, and the seats are very comfortable. Fishing from this is great when fitted with the proper add-ons. As a one person, it’s a huge kayak for fishing.
My wife and i will buy another so we can take our two kids fishing out on our resacas (distributaries of the Rio Grande), bays, snd lagoons in South Texas.
Highly recommended. If you have two kids, even better. I’ve taken my 7 and 5 year old out together and enjoyed many short fishing snd kayak trips sightseeing, birding, and teaching them kayaking as well.

Over all nice for lake or bay use. comfortably fits two medium size adults. Do not go to Max load as it becomes very sluggish, probably like most others. It will take on water parallel to wakes or swells. Comes rudder ready but line tubes are cut inconsistently., Some too long and stick out after the rudder is installed. Seats that come with the canoe do not fit the center position with or without the rudder kit installed.

Coming from a more…

Coming from a more traditional, Wilderness Systems Pamlico 145, we had shared the learning curve for a few years, but when I began seeing Vibe ads and testimonials popping up I began wondering if a fishing sit on top paddling platform might be a bit more comfortable for our old bones. First, off, this is a beautifully made kayak rigged to drop right in. We opted i=to install a rudder system, which the kayak is ready to receive including nicely installed internal running tubes to keep the rails clear. We found that adding the rudder on our last boat made for a much more stable paddle and much easier to paddle to windward. We're not adventure kayakers. We want to be comfortable out in nature and with the Vibe's tunneled hull design, wider profile and design we have it in spades. Plus, it's still easy turning in a pinch. The real payback is the very comfortable seats and the large, well placed storage hatches and bungeed recesses for tackle, or what have you. IN the stern, right behind the rear seat position is a great cooler space. We use a flip-top cooler that is easy to reach from that seating position. A big plus also is that fact that the rails are prepped to receive optional track, and the positions can be reached from inside the hatches to use through bolts for security. We also love the plentiful scuppers. Vibe has set out to make kayaks for fun and little worry and they have succeeded at lower prices than we expected.

The Yellowfin 130T is a great kayak for anyone. Being a tandem kayak, its balance and stability is unmatched. The ability to ride solo is also great and the changing of seat positions is unnoticeable when thinking of the stability. I do have one con in it's design. While riding solo it is almost impossible to reach the two flush mount rod holders in the back. But they left the sides of the hulls open to fit 16" track mounts in each slot; that means 64" of track mounts could be avalible to use and to a tournament angler......that means the world. The weight of the 130T is a little daunting it first and its sheer size can make loading a chore. But with the help of YouTube and experience loading becomes easier and easier. (I load mine on a mini-van). lol I give this kayak a five star rating due to being versatile, its stability and its ride height. Yes, its ride height surprised me. While fishing the 130T solo on inshore flats i was afraid for low tide. My friend fishing out of a Nucanoe Flint was ahead of me and got stuck on a hidden sand barge. This was the perfect time to try it out. The 130T glided along the water an right past the Nucanoe. I never felt or heard the kayak touch the sand. I recommend the kayak to anyone!

Kayaks are great. We got two of them. Both arrived in perfect condition. We have only been able to take them out once on the river so far, but they track well and feel stable. The seats are comfortable. The cup holder is in an awkward spot but that’s not super important. Everything else is great. Would buy from again! We are happy and excited about all the fun we are gon g to have this summer!

Finding ourselves getting…

Submitted by: Poorer-Richard on 6/18/2018

Finding ourselves getting older and not as quick on our feet as we were, we wanted a tandem yak that was stable and comfortable, but still maneuverable and rudder-ready. The Vibe Yellowfin 130T was our choice. It is an incredible value for the money and has every feature we wanted and more. First, it features a unique hull design and tunnel chines on the bottom for great tracking. We added the rudder which improves windward tracking and initial stability when entering or leaving the boat. The aluminum frame adjustable chairs are very comfortable, and the yak can easily convert to a single paddler center position by moving three bungee cords. It also comes rudder ready witht he stern bearing/mount cast in place as well as full-length tubes to carry the rudder lines. Vibe has all the accessories you'll need available on-site at great prices, too. There is a lot of room for a cooler and other gear with the tie-down bungees provided. Scuppers and plugs everywhere. It rides low enough that it is very stable, but high enough that you don't get swamped every time a wake comes a bit close. In a 2 foot chop, it remains safe. It's a bit heavier than our last yak, but if you look around on YouTube, there are lots of videos showing different approaches to kayak loading aids. We had to modify our inexpensive cart with 4" PVC pipes to accommodate the deeper Vee hull than our last yak. Vibe customer service is the best we've found. They are very engaging and take care of any issues instantly. Vibe also has a very active FaceBook Owners group that really have absorbed the Vibe philosophy: No drama, just adventure. Overall I couldn't be happier with our new yak and knowing it can be stood up in for fishing is the gravy!
