The Recon comes in a range of sizes. Mine is the 93 model.
This is one of the cutting edge design creekers with continuous rocker. Everything is well thought out, down to the smallest details.
Harder chines are high on the sides and begin about at the cockpit, running aft. Therefore, waves and cross currents aren’t grabbing you. However, you can engage them to carve by edging and/or leaning back.
The bow is heavily rockered and rides over the rough stuff. The stern has ample volume. Combined with the continuous rocker, this design enables you to punch through holes with ease.
The outfitting is outstanding and includes a ratchet strap to lift the forward edge of the seat to solidly engage the thigh braces. The forward pillar has a solid step-out face that enables you to kick free of the boat, should the occasion arise. The pillar also incorporates a grab handle for easier carries. Grab handles and security bars are located at key points on the deck.
The hull is extremely sturdy. This results in a heavy boat, which some will consider a negative. On technical rivers, I welcome the extra protection. Great choice of colors and combinations.
This is a fairly fast creeker that carves, ferries and boofs with the best of them. It excels at extreme conditions but, due to its uncompromising mission to get you through technical runs, is not the best choice for less severe conditions.
