With now having 5 different kayaks to tote around, it seemed only logical that some sort of better transportation system would be in order for better handling and such. After research, I decided to purchase the Trailex SUT-250-M2 aluminum trailer. This trailer is marketed that it will carry up to #4 kayaks, so that alone made for an easy purchase regarding that matter. Since my primary kayak is a 17" Necky Chatham, which previously was transported atop of a Subaru Forester, on Thule e-z glide & set supports, I was hopeful that the addition of the Trailex trailer would make lugging that personal longship around much easier on me. And boy has it ever!
Overall, the trailer is 14'11" long, and the 17" Necky Chatham fits comfortably on top of the supports. The front support beam can be moved back-and-forth in order to accommodate whatever size kayaks you are personally carrying. The trailer will also easily handle canoes & SUP boards as well too. Several weeks now into ownership, and I can't help but rave about how awesome the SUT-250-M2 has worked out for me. Whether it is one long kayak, or several, transporting them all has been a breeze. They are easily placed on or removed, as well as tied down and secured to the trailer in a jiffy. The trailer is so quiet when in tow, that if you didn't look in your rear view mirror and see it, you'd swear it wasn't even there. Nothing but favorable praise so far with this product.
