I've had the Angler pro now…

Submitted by: pontil on 12/27/2023

I've had the Angler pro now for 2 years. A move to an apartment forced me to sell my hardshell. As I fish from my kayak, the features of this model fit the bill. The drop stitch floor makes it very stable. Standing up isn't a problem. I like the aluminum bracing that allows attachments. Plenty of room for gear, cooler, hopefully my 50# dog. It is noticeably slower than my Vapor 10 but I don't hurry to fish. It tracks reasonably well with the skeg attached. The supplied seat provides hours of comfort. The skin seems very durable. I have yet felt the need to fill all the air chambers. I fill the bow bag to have a footrest. I might attach a bimini shade since there are good structural attachment points.

The cons: It is fairly wide. Part of the stability but a shorter person may find it hard to paddle. It weighs a little more than my Vapor (about 45#) There are lighter inflatables out there but without the ability to modify. It uses two different valve fittings to inflate. Not a problem if you want to use the stock manual pump. I did not and I had to modify the fitting on my electric pump to match one of the valves. Lastly, I had to replace a side tube twice. It developed a leak at the seam at the top of the tube where no wear happens. Covered under warranty but I wonder if it's a design or manufacturing flaw.

Excellent kayak! I find it…

Submitted by: paddler2450268 on 12/13/2022

Excellent kayak! I find it to be very sturdy and stable, and even have confidence standing up while fishing. It takes very little pressure to inflate, so sets up and inflates quickly. With five total air chambers the risk of incapacitation are very low. The accessory rails are perfect for my rod holders, fish finder and Go-Pro. There is plenty of room behind be for my tackle box, fish-finder battery and cooler, and my dog can even come along without any problem (Shiba Inu, 18 lbs.). Love the fact that it deflates and packs down to a reasonable size, as I really don't have room for a rigid kayak and with an inflatable I can set up right on the water's edge and go. Love it!
