What a beautiful boat! If you are considering any fiberglass kayak out there, you owe it to yourself to check out Pacific Kayak's New Rogue. This is a hand built 17' single built in Nanaimo BC. It has soft chines, a large cockpit, huge hatches & the most convenient day hatch design ever. They have also incorporated replaceable wear strips in the bow & stern to protect the flawless fibreglass (& your investment). The Rogue is reasonably quick, very stable & comfortable, & is still incredibly manouverable. This was the first soft chined boat I could comfortably put way up on edge & feel totally stable. It tracks well & has enough rocker to still turn easily. The rudder uses fixed, adjustable pivoting pedals so you can brace & turn at the same time, a godsend in rough water where you might actually use the rudder. The seating is also fantastic with a curved, padded Plastic backband that is totally adjustable for height & angle, very comfortable! I never thought I would fall for a soft chined boat, but this single is my new favourite!! Definitely a 10 out of 10!! Pacific kayaks is a small manufacturer who only recently started into kayaks, so you may not have heard of them yet, but you will!
