I spent about 40 days leading trips in one of these. It is boring, in the best possible way - predictable, stable, easy tracking and easy to steer with strokes. It is fast enough and rolls predictably. I found the seat and outfitting to be comfortable and easy to adjust. The capacity is generous, the hatches are large, yet watertight, and the interior space is more usable than most. The Northwest line of kayaks are not the fanciest or prettiest boats out there, but they are very durable and well built for long, low-maintenance service (more time paddling and less fussing with rudder cables!) The rudder system is proof of this - as rugged as it is un-pretty! This is a great boat to camp from and a nice all-rounder. Comfortable enough for beginners, but certainly a boat you could grow with and use for decades.
