    Pursuit 17 Description

The Pursuit is very similar to a Loon in hull design though it has a significantly lower profile, providing exceptional performance even in windy conditions. The 17' straight sides offer efficient long-distance paddling. The Pursuit is the choice of a wide range of paddlers who enjoy traveling long distances with very little effort. While the Loon would be the preferred choice for carrying quantities of gear and keeping it dry or for families with small children, the Pursuit in Kevlar would offer reduced weight. The Kevlar Pursuit may be preferred by serious adventurers considering portages and wind resistance on large and open bodies of water.

I bought the 16 foot Pursuit in fiberglass, designed as a narrower canoe with lower freeboard. It's good looking, fast, very stable, lightweight, good with wind, and an excellent solo paddler, especially if you sit in the middle and use a long kayak paddle. It would have gotten a 10, except for the brass bow bumpers, which self-destruct if they hit anything solid.

A gorgeous boat. Navarro's are the most beautiful, hand crafted boats made today, fast fast fast and very stable; handles great. Very light and easy to load and unload, seaworthiness great. I have explored many a Central Oregon and Oregon Coast lake with this boat ... wonderful. Navarro is a great little company in Southern Oregon, very personable, they make their boats slowly and by hand. Give them a call and they will gladly tell you all about the boat they are making for you.
