I recently purchased the Propel 10. I use it for inshore saltwater fishing. I love the size, the propel mechanism, the already installed track systems. I do somewhat agree on the rudder issues (I am sure that it would be phenomenal on lakes) but, it does work "sufficiently" on the inshore creeks and inlets. My only "REAL" complaint is the rudder control lever. I find it very "sloppy" and flimsy. I may have to upgrade to a different aftermarket lever control. I have also upgraded the seat risers to after market risers. Kayak is solid and stable!

I think it’s a great introduction to the pedal market. It doesn’t have a spot for a transducer but it’s stable enough to stand, has plenty of gear track for accessories and the tank well has good storage capacity. Definitely worth taking a look and a contender when comparing to others in the market.

I bought one of the first…

I bought one of the first Slayer Propels offered for sale in October 2014. I was then and continue to be amazed by the space, comfort, and fishability of this lightweight kayak. I use my Slayer Propel 10 to troll for striped bass in the tidal waters of the Chesapeake Bay. I troll 4 lines at a time and have caught hundreds of stripers including my personal best of 37" caught across the Severn River from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis in April 2016.

I am a large guy (6'4" and 240 lbs) yet the Slayer Propel 10 has plenty of space for my legs and my tackle. The cockpit area is remarkably roomy for a 10' kayak. Given my weak back, I do not like to cartop my kayaks and do not use heavy kayaks. I am able to slide the Slayer Propel 10 completely inside my Toyota Sienna minivan with all my gear and close the hatch. This makes loading and unloading quick and easy.

I have never seen any other pedal-drive kayak that offers the same combination of low weight, comfort, and fishability. Native hit a home run with the Slayer Propel 10.

Fishing from my Slayer…

Fishing from my Slayer Propel 10 is so much fun. The boat is very stable, there is room for all of my gear, and I can easily manage it by myself when it comes to loading and launching (I'm a 5'2" woman). I love the adjustability of the seat, and it is comfortable for hours and hours of fishing and paddling. The stability is especially important to me, and I feel very safe and secure in this kayak. I also love the propel drive option - on windy days or in a slight current, it helps keep me positioned properly while my hands are free to fish. I love this boat, and plan on keeping it forever!

Native asked owners what they could make better; and they delivered. Having tried a Mariner 12, I couldn't reach the pedals and it was too heavy to lug on top of my car, but the concept is great for flat water fishing. The Slayer 10 is light, I can reach the pedals and "zip" along to my fishing holes, and it's stable enough to stand. It has the famous comfy seat that other manufacturers now mimic, but no one else has something in this weight class (light with 500lb capacity) with pedal or paddle!

I love me new Slayer Propel…

I love me new Slayer Propel 10. Being a women, it is small enough for me to handle in the water and light enough for me to load. While I always fish with my husband and son, they always outdistanced me and it was hard for me to keep up. With my new Slayer 10 Propel, I am at the front of the line. I love the ease of use. I can paddle or peddle, my choice. It was a bit costly, but I sold my Slayer 12' and got a great price for it. They do hold their value. It makes for a GREAT fish experience.
