A great board for a beginner…

Submitted by: guest-paddler on 2/18/2015
A great board for a beginner to progress and learn new skills on. Both my partner and my kids have enjoyed paddling on flat water estuaries and in the ocean surf. Pros Great performance in the surf and very stable for beginners. Cons We did have a water leak in the deck, plastic grab handle box section. The issue was rectified by Naish as it was a known problem on some of the models. No further problems have occurred. Usage We mainly use the Alana in the surf and the river estuaries. A great all round SUP that the family enjoys using. We have travelled with the board up the east coast of Australia and have had many great surf sessions on it.

i bought this board from king of water sports for 1090£ i recived a upackaged board dameged and the box dameged with holes with everything lose ......i had no way of sending this back as it came to western isles scotland . Pros surfs like a dream easy to paddle apart from the fin boxs ,has stood up to 6months of winter wave abuse ,would say its very well made super light and a great choice for any standard of paddler ,have paddled and surfed it in excess of 30mph winds Cons the side fin boxes broke in first 3 days ,and i enede up repairing mself due to living to far away and reluctancy from the seller to replace but did offer a fixing service that i still live to far away to even consider. i find the board a little to wide ,does not like offshore winds the yaw is terrible and takes tremendous power to take of but not impossible Usage i have used this board all winter from head high slamers to double overhead winter waves ,
