The Eddy Gear Happiness is awesome!! My wife and I are full-time Airstream travelers and this was the perfect addition. We've been looking for a while before finally choosing this particular style and make. We wanted something we could use on the ocean and river. As for our river runs, we normally won't go through anything bigger than a Level 3 rapid. So far, the kayak has been a perfect fit for us. We also use the kayak to help train for our adventure races as we travel around the US. Its weight is not an issue either. Although we have decided to purchase the cart dolly to tow it around to locations that our F250 truck cannot fit into. My wife is thrilled to not have to help carry (she's laughing while I write this). Taking it off the truck and putting it back on is incredibly easy. We were surprised to see so many on the road traveling. This kayak gives you a stable, comfortable ride and is a lot of fun. It has self-bailing scuppers, which you can plug up for when the seas (or lake/stream/river) are calm for a somewhat drier ride. In our home harbor community, I find no need for this, but that is for each user to decide. With a lumbar-support seat or two, and good paddles, this kayak is great fun. Recommended Great purchase!!! The Happiness tandem; this is a great, economical, multi-function kayak which my family loves. I researched and looked at MANY styles and prices of kayaks after moving to a coastal/marsh neighborhood and tested a few different styles of kayaks from a friend who owns a kayak touring/adventure company. If you've shopped kayaks much you'll be challenged to find one that is good for solo, adult tandem, and adult with two children. After shopping Craigslist/Gander Mountain/Academy/Bass Pro/Dick's Sporting Goods for an economical tandem, A friend of mine told me about this company, and I saw them on Amazon. With a wife and two children I've been able to comfortably use this kayak solo, with my wife, and with my two children. It's easy to bungee strap a milk crate on the front and back to have a great, roomy, sturdy fishing platform considering all the rod holders that already come with it. The kayak can handle the surf/chop pretty well. This yak is WIDE, and VERY sturdy. I'm 5′ 9″ 180# and can stand up and cast net when the chop isn't high. I can't wait to try it out this spring on some fishing & camping trips. I tried it out this on some hunting & camping trips, and it performed extremely well. Since it's short, wide, heavy this yak won't win any races and requires a little more paddle effort. The paddles are a pretty good design (especially for free) but are a bit short; IMO, for the width of the yak. The seat backs are pretty good but you'll need a boat cushion or “deluxe†seat for some butt padding. Overall this yak has been GREAT for our family and we've had many adventures in it…HIGHLY recommended. This gets 5 stars since it offers more features and performance than any kayaks in this price range.
