Purchased new Esquif Huron 15' in 2017. T-Formex hull. Used maybe 30 times over last 12 months on Class II rivers and reservoirs in NC Piedmont (solo and tandem). Without question, the best canoe I've ever paddled for my area. Tracks easily in lake, low sides resist winds. Maneuvers easily in rocky rivers, leans predictably, rides over rapids. Hull is scratched -- similar to royalex hulls. I use mostly for fishing. When using solo in lake, I paddle with a 280cm double bladed paddle. The canoe is a fast as a kayak, and it's much more practical for fishing (in my judgement). I've owned at least 10 different canoes (and 5 kayaks) -- the Huron 15 is my favorite of all. Esquif's web site says the Huron is a Prospector hull with lower sides. Huron weighs 55 pounds -- light enough I can lift it easily (I'm 61). Esquif has designed and built the perfect canoe for my purposes.
