I have been using a Gath...

I have been using a Gath Helmet now for about three years and I can't really see why anyone would use anythig else, especially for paddle surfing (or any other white water application for that matter). They are very low profile which makes chugging through surf alot easier, and the retractable face shield not only gives me an added measure of face protection but has reduced the amount of sun I get on my face,,,very important for these melanoma consciouse days. The fact that I can move the shield up or down gives me flexibility to increase or decrease the amount of shade I need and I don't have a visor to snap my head around (or fall off) when I get smacked by a wave, in fact the shield actually makes for a more stream-lined entry through the break. In addition, even when fully covering my face (nice in the rain) I can still see what is going on, even after no small amount of wear and tear,,scratches etc...

Another very important feature that I really like about the helmet is that it keeps a large amount of water from getting blasted directly into my ears which has reduced the number and severity of the ear infections I am prone to, without cutting off my hearing. I have never had so much as one problem with this product and have worn it for a whole bunch of other applications as well,,, "like my first time on a snow board, OUCH".

I trust this helmet, and the company has allways been there if I needed information. Not only that but they ship on time which seems fairly rare in this industry.

This is a "must have" piece of Gear Kidz,,, Oh and the best part of the deal is that they really look good too. They come in some very un-usual patterns and they don't look like "rental helmets" after only two seasons in the UV.
