I have the 220 length of this particular paddle and it has done the trick in both calm and rough conditions. I have a low angle paddle stroke and this paddle performs well for that type of approach. The posi-lok ferrule makes change the blade angle super easy and quick. The carbon shaft and carbon/nylon blades allow the paddle to be light and strong in a good head wind. Little to no vibration. The one con I have noticed after about a year of owning this paddle is that the ferrule is starting to make a clicking noise on some power strokes, but other than that, I have enjoyed this paddle.

My wife & i are fairly new to the kayaking world. So far we've been out 4 times and already can't get enough! Before our trips, we searched and researched gear. I ended up buying a Carlise paddle and it works well. She bought an Aqua-Bound paddle and it is AMAZING!! I plan to sell my Carlise and buy an Aqua-Bound for my self very soon!!! It just glides through the water like its going thru air! I would highly recommend an Aqua-Bound to anyone. I truly can't believe the difference. It's effortless and THAT is a great way to paddle.

Last summer my girl and I bought each an AquaBound paddle with Posi lock. What a beauty. We both love our paddle coz it's light, position the way u want and in a matter of a clik we can twist and change the position to make it more comfortable to paddle.
A recommended buy

Love my AB Eagle Ray carbon…

Submitted by: Lowflyingbird on 8/21/2013

Love my AB Eagle Ray carbon with Posi-lock ferrule. I have a Werner Camano with a similar blade size & shape which is lighter and glides thru the water, but does not grab the water as well. I've had the Eagle Ray on long trips, I've also had to tow two people behind me on a bad day. I highly recommend it.

I'm using it to push my 24" W. x 17'L Necky Tesla. I'm 200lbs and 6'. It's a 230 cm. I will be buying a 220cm for my Necky Looksha 22.5"W. kayak. I can also keep a much faster pace with it than my Werner 220cm.
