This company is excellent with an excellent product. I have experienced using this board in Winona, Minnesota. The Park and Rec. department here allows you to check out any of its equipment for 45mn-1 hour. (only $10.00 for the ENTIRE YEAR!) They have 3 DOYLE SUP's.
I used the 11'6" most frequently. I found that it was more sturdy than the shorter/narrower one. I am 6'6" and 220lbs, and felt solid and sturdy on the 11'6" board.
Upon discovery of being able to use these boards, i went every day for 3 weeks straight at the end of June-July. There was always a line of use for these boards!
Pros
These boards were used HEAVILY by people who were learning how to paddleboard, and withstood a pounding! From people getting on them too shallow so the fin would hit the sand, to the paddles banging into the sides all the time, to people slipping and falling, to kids jumping from one board to another, these boards weathered all the abuse like champions! The grippy mats stood up, the sides of the boards withstood all the banging, and they never once cracked or got any damage to the hulls! AMAZING BOARDS!!
Cons
Usage
I used these boards for physical therapy. I was in a bad skiing accident 3 years ago, in which I obliterated my L4 vertebrae; God saved my life. I wanted to try SUPing, and discovered it was the best exercise i could do for my back and body!
