After reviewing and demo'ing seemingly countless SUPs I decided to go with the Cruisuir Kona Classic 12'. I am 5'10, 245 lbs (very athletic build) and was looking for a good SUP for long lazy days on the local lakes & rivers that could also carry a few supplies and beverages. I am very pleased with this purchase. This is a beautiful board, appears very well made and floats me with absolutely no effort without having to paddle or move forward for additional stability. At 12' long I can't believe how light this board is.
Pros
Very stable, high quality vacuum laminate bamboo construction, beautiful bamboo veneer, lightweight (for size), glides easily, tracks well. well placed tie down plugs & bungee included, comfortable deck pad.
Cons
comes with a 9" surf style center fin and two side-bite fins. The original fin is "OK" as an all-around, but I replaced the fin with a touring style and the tracking improved greatly on flatwater. Now I am able to paddle several strokes on one side of the board and remain on course.
Usage
Primarily used on flatwater for touring and long lazy days.
