Kona Classic 12' Description

The Cruiser SUP Kona Classic makes SUP accessible and fun for everyone. Thanks to its superior design, optimized for real world conditions, it handles well in both flatwater and small-medium surf conditions. Cruiser SUP's Ultra-Lite construction offers the lightest weight, highest performing boards that remain durable. The construction features thin layers of wood veneer, sandwiched between layers of epoxy and fiberglass. The end result is the lightest and strongest skin over a water-tight, closed-cell EPS core. The Kona Classic Ultra-Lite comes equipped with a deck pad for ultimate traction and comfort, three fins, and carry handle to make transporting your boards to and from the water as easy and comfortable as possible. After reviewing and demo'ing seemingly countless SUPs I decided to go with the Cruisuir Kona Classic 12'. I am 5'10, 245 lbs (very athletic build) and was looking for a good SUP for long lazy days on the local lakes & rivers that could also carry a few supplies and beverages. I am very pleased with this purchase. This is a beautiful board, appears very well made and floats me with absolutely no effort without having to paddle or move forward for additional stability. At 12' long I can't believe how light this board is. Pros Very stable, high quality vacuum laminate bamboo construction, beautiful bamboo veneer, lightweight (for size), glides easily, tracks well. well placed tie down plugs & bungee included, comfortable deck pad. Cons comes with a 9" surf style center fin and two side-bite fins. The original fin is "OK" as an all-around, but I replaced the fin with a touring style and the tracking improved greatly on flatwater. Now I am able to paddle several strokes on one side of the board and remain on course. Usage Primarily used on flatwater for touring and long lazy days.
