A whim purchase for my birthday, got a great deal on this sit-on-top. It is light under 40lbs easy for me to put on top oft car by myself. Tested it in my pool immediately for stability. Rocked hard left to right and felt very secure. I have back issues and the form of the seat bottom with the folding adjustable back is very comfortable to me, even on long paddle.
Due to the flat bottom and 6 plugs, it has a lot of drag and was the slowest kayak on the 16 mile paddle down the mighty Mississippi. Took it to a smaller shallow river and it maneuvered well through the shallow waters grasses overpass and under trees easy. The shortness was also great maneuvering through the Cyprus trees except for the knees/stumps. I slid across the top of one knee until it found the plug hole indention and I was stuck! Had to dismount in the swamp to dislodge.
Great kayak for simple recreational use and safety for kids. Will get another for the longer paddles on more open water.
