Java ST Canoe Paddle

Java ST Canoe Paddle Description

The Java premium canoe paddle is hand-crafted in Osceola, Wisconsin. It has a strong solid basswood shaft and an eye-popping “pinstriped” blade of basswood and dark, roasted basswood that you have to see to believe. The blade has a 2 oz. fiberglass wrap and full Rockgard® edge protection to safeguard its beauty and performance. The Java’s shaft is made of solid, ovalized Basswood, so it's durable but not excessive in weight. With its classic palm grip, the Java is easy to hold, comfortable, and warm.

In 2018, i was embarking in the most amazing and challenging expedition of my life. Crossing America by canoe from the Pacific ocean to the Atlantic ocean during 191 days and 7500 km / 4700 miles was the adventure of a lifetime and clearly a life changer! I used a Bending Branches Java Straight Shaft paddle and i loved it. The paddle is light, durable and perfect for long canoe expedition. It is also a beautiful paddle. In 2022, i'm planning to cross Russia by canoe and i'll for sure use a Bending Branches Straight Shaft paddle!

I bought this paddle just because I liked its looked. I have since decided it is suits for my needs very well. I usually use a bent shaft, but I find this works much better in one of my boats (Hornbeck 12) because the boat is the shortest and widest of my canoes. It is light weight and the blade size suits my stroke and offers all the control I need and the power I can use easily, (I am 74 after all). I like the palm grip. While it is not as light as some of the much more expensive paddles, it is light enough. It is a very nice paddle and it looks great too.

Comfortable grip and oval shaft. Lightweight and stiff. The rock guard protection covers the edge of the entire blade and the finish on the paddle is tough. The pattern on the blade is attractive and the paddle is quiet in the water.

The Java is a Beautiful Paddle, love the pinstripe look. The paddle is so light I thought the box was empty when I picked it up, craftsmanship is very good and the fiberglass wrap and rock guard take care of it being tough. Love It
