Balogh Sail Designs makes...

Balogh Sail Designs makes sailing rigs for canoes and kayaks. Typically their kits contain a four section aluminum mast, an aluminum thwart tube with mast partner and gunwhale brackets for canoes or struts for kayaks, wooden leeboards, wooden and aluminum rudder assemblies, and dacron batwing sails. Outriggers (akas and amas) known as the BOSS (Balogh Outrigger Stabilty System) are also available as an optional accessory. All aluminum tubes have foam inside to make them float. The entire sailing rig can be disassembled and packed into a small bag. Once tailored to a specific craft, set up and take down is perhaps 5-10 minutes. The outfit is rugged and high performing. I once thought the rig was a little expensive but have used it for years. The workmanship and quality is outstanding. And they stand behind their product. I've had tons of fun with mine and routinely sail my canoe in large bays in 15 knots of wind.
