When I was on the hunt for my first board, there was one thing that I knew for sure and that was that I wanted versatility. The Lanai stuck out in my mind because of: 1. It's versatily 2. An unheard of price (includes free shipping) for the quality that you receive 3. The customer service was great and I was able to buy it right from my computer.
Pros
The board does really well in the surf that I've been out in so far(2-4 ft). It's great on flat water for paddling fast or going for a long paddle. It's really stable and I was really surprised how well the board tracks.
Cons
My kids get to ride the board more often than I do...
