Wenonah Spirit II Fiberglass Tandem Canoe
Wenonah "Spirit II" Fiberglass canoe
From Canoe & Kayak Magazine,
"if you could have only one canoe to serve all your needs for the rest of your life, the Spirit II would be one of the very few candidates." Maybe that's why Wenonah sells more Spirit II's than any other model."
Fast and solid, made of Tuf-weave Flex-core Fiberglass Composite.
Here are some specifications:
Length: 17' 0" (518.16cm)
Width: 36" (91.44cm)
Weight: 58 lbs.
This canoe has been well-maintained. It has had one owner and has been stored almost entirely inside. During my ownership, it had one superficial break through its gel coat (the outer paint-epoxy layer) that did not even touch the inner tough weave. I repaired that small break with epoxy fiberglass. I also resealed the bottom of the hull with white acrylic paint to extend its longevity.
A new Spirit II costs $3,500.

From their website:
As efficient as a long-hulled canoe and as maneuverable as a short one, the Spirit II strikes a balance between all good things. Roomy enough for Boundary Waters style trips, it's even more stable when loaded.
