The Otter design was created by Hans Friedel of Sweden. Built from a Newfound Woodworks kit. This 12’ boat is a lightweight (35 lbs), easily portaged solo canoe that can be paddled with a traditional canoe paddle or a kayak paddle. Built with a shoe keel to aide in tracking. With a beam of 32.5” and draft of about 4”, she is a stable fishing platform that can be paddled in shallow backwaters others can’t access.
